About

Enlighten. Encourage. Empower.

I am a licensed professional counselor in the states of Georgia and Virginia who has worked with couples and families in various settings for the past 15 years. Helping people heal personally and relationally has always been a passion of mine and I count it an honor to partner with others in their journey to wellness. I have specific experience in working with those struggling with addiction, depression, anxiety, and various relational issues. While I employ elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, my approach is eclectic and based on the client's needs. My counseling style is personable and supportive as therapeutic rapport is an important aspect of the client/counselor relationship. My goal is to empower individuals to create change and focus on all of the things they can control. I don't give advice or direction; this creates dependence and limits client accountability. Walking alongside clients in a supportive, encouraging way is my main objective. Being open and transparent isn't easy and I applaud those that are willing to break stigmas associated with mental health and wellness supports. Everyone is fighting their own battles. You are worth fighting for!

Testimonials

“I feel instantly more supported. Jon's afforded me the ability to slow down problems that come my way so that I'm able to process them piece by piece. I feel like I'm becoming calmer and that my stressors are being worked through consistently. ”

“I'm thankful for Jon and his listening ear. Although I've done a lot of self healing, actually speaking with someone who listens and ask questions to understand so he'd be able to provide me with what's needed has helped me so much. Jon, thank you!”

“Jon has been very patient, kind, reasonable and insightful when it comes to how I conceptualize the events and feelings I have. He is flexible, prompt and most importantly has a lot of empathy, respect and understanding of the struggles that I go through. ”
